We have many different nerve plexuses, but the most famous for the average man is the sun. What do we know about him? It is a well-known fact - if a person is hit hard in the solar plexus area, he can be instantly disabled. Here, perhaps, that's all. It's time to broaden your horizons and learn more about the solar plexus in humans.

Solar plexus is where?

Solar plexus in humans: where is

The solar plexus is located where the anterior part of the diaphragm is: at the top of the abdomen between the first lumbar and the last thoracic vertebrae. This is a vegetative nerve plexus in the abdominal cavity of the human body. Why precisely interlacing? Because the nerve fibers in this place by their interweaving form a whole bundle.

And it is called solar, because the nerves from this node diverge, like rays of the sun in all directions of the body.

It is the largest autonomic plexus in humans, through which certain organs, such as the stomach or intestines, are controlled. When scanning the chest, the solar plexus is perceived as an inverted English letter V.

This is a very sensitive to the external influence of the nerve node, which is a collection of sympathetic and parasympathetic nerve fibers. In some mystical religions, the solar plexus is endowed with special significance, since it is considered the energy and mental center of man. In this context, the solar plexus and the brain are called the center of emotions.

Anatomy and structure of the mysterious "body"

The solar plexus is well protected by the abdominal muscles and is located in the body. It contains nerve fibers, mainly designed to control the organs of the abdominal cavity, as well as to regulate tension or relax smooth muscles or gland secretion.

The solar plexus includes three clusters of ganglion cells:

  • superior mesenteric ganglion;
  • celiac disease ganglia;
  • aortic-renal ganglia.

In the solar plexus collected sympathetic and parasympathetic nerve fibers. Parasympathetic fibers mainly depart from the right vagus nerve, while sympathetic fibers go to the diaphragmatic. A special cranial vagus nerve regulates many important functions of the vocal tract, heart and lungs.

Functions of the ventral plexus

Functions of the ventral plexus

The solar or abdominal plexus can be represented as a distribution device of the central nervous system, which automatically coordinates and sends signals and important information from the peritoneal organs to the brain and back. The organs innervated by the solar plexus include:

  • kidneys;
  • stomach;
  • liver;
  • pancreas;
  • genitals;
  • spleen;
  • rectum;
  • intestines;
  • adrenal glands.

If a person has impaired nervous activity, reflexotherapy is applied. Its goal is to achieve the correct distribution of energy in the body using a specific technique of acupressure. The well-defined points, which are the palms or soles, are influenced by a circular motion or constant pressure to stimulate and activate the solar plexus.

Why does the solar plexus hurt a person?

Because of an accident on the road, during the performance of any physical work or as a result of excessive pressure or impact, the vagus nerve is affected, which can cause episodes of unconsciousness, slow heartbeat and dizziness. A more serious effect on the solar plexus can lead to a sharp increase in cardiac activity up to fibrillation, as well as to irreversible damage:

  • mental disorders of various kinds;
  • dysfunction of the solar plexus;
  • the appearance of pain in the solar plexus.

When pain is observed over a long period, the cause should be investigated by a doctor. If nothing serious is found, a light circular massage is prescribed as a preventive measure.

Too curved body posture during sleep can put painful pressure on the solar plexus. This symptom is not dangerous, it disappears after a change of posture, and some targeted exercises help you recover quickly.

If the solar plexus in a person hurts constantly, you should definitely consult with your doctor. This alarming symptom may be due to a serious illness, such as a defect in the pancreas.

Why does the solar plexus hurt a person?

There are cases when a person bumps a lump or seal in the area of the solar plexus. The presence of pain in this case is not all. This condition can be caused by the following pathologies:

  • benign wen or lipoma;
  • the formation of a hernia in the anterior wall of the peritoneum;
  • rupture of the muscles of the abdominal wall;
  • inflamed cartilage of the xiphoid process.

Possible consequences of impact in the region of the ventral plexus

Unlike the cardiac plexus, the sun is less protected by the bones of the skeleton. Hitting a nerve cluster can cause severe pain. With a single sharp impact on the vagus nerve, the abdominal vessels immediately expand, resulting in a sudden drop in blood pressure. This causes dangerous brain failure, which is accompanied by dizziness or even loss of consciousness. In the worst case, death can occur, especially in the presence of diseases of the autonomic nervous system.

Thus, the solar plexus is a network of nerves in the abdominal cavity and is an important switching center in the functioning of the nervous system. Despite the location in the thickness of the muscle tissue, the solar plexus remains unprotected, so care should be taken with this area.
