The reproduction of roses cuttings

The rose is a magnificent flower that wins the hearts of millions of people at all times. This is probably the most common flower. It is difficult to imagine a city whose beds would not have these beautiful flowers in their ranks.

The reproduction of roses cuttings - a way that is the best for fans. After all, this method of breeding roses is considered the easiest. Such reproduction can be of two types: summer grassy cuttings (this method is more common) and green winter cuttings, the wood of which has already ripened.

Propagation of roses by summer cuttings

Propagation of roses summer grassy cuttings - the process is much easier than reproduction by winter cuttings. Rose bushes grown from summer green cuttings tolerate winter and frost much better. This is due to the fact that in this case the plants have time to prepare for wintering, unlike plants grown from later cuttings.

It is important to choose the right time to take a cutting. The most favorable is the moment when the rosebud is just beginning to acquire color. Mainly, this is because if you take the stalk with a blossomed or already faded flower, its rooting time will be significantly increased, but the percentage of rooting will decrease.

In addition, you need choose the right size of cuttings. It should be about five to eight centimeters. The stalk is cut from the middle of the shoot. On the cut handle should be at least three buds. To reduce the evaporation of moisture, it is necessary to cut the leaves. You need to leave two sheets of each kidney.

For cuts, too, need to follow. The upper cut should be straight, and the lower - at an angle of forty-five degrees. The lower cut must be made with a sharp and clean knife, and the sharper your knife, the better. This need is caused by the fact that the cuttings are very easy to damage. Therefore, it is quite logical to try to eliminate all possible dangers. If you want to speed up the rooting of a plant, cuttings can be put into water with root growth accelerators. (root or heteroauxin). Rooting itself can be carried out both in water and directly in the ground.

To root the rose in the water, cuttings should be placed in a jar with cool boiled water. A vessel with cuttings should be placed in partial shade. After two or three weeks, a soft white ball will appear on the tip of the cutting - this is the germ of the root. Already in this state, the plant can be planted in the ground. However, you can hold it for a few more days. That's when the real roots will appear. When germinating the roots in this way, the water needs to be changed every one to two days. After planting in the ground, the plant must be covered for some time (until the leaves appear). At the same time it is necessary to spray at least once a day.

When planting directly into the ground, cuttings create greenhouse conditions. That is, beds are formed, a greenhouse is made with fertile nutrient soil. In the greenhouse should always be good humidity. Planted cuttings so that they are in the ground to the level of the second eye, at an angle of forty-five degrees, at a distance of about ten centimeters from each other. Planted plants should be sprayed three times a day.

The temperature in your greenhouse should not be higher than twenty-five degrees Celsius, and if it rises higher, it is necessary to shade the plant. If you have some cuttings, then build a greenhouse optional. It is enough to cover them with glass jars or cut plastic bottles.

How to propagate roses with winter cuttings?

Breeding material you should prepare in the fall, when the first frost occurs. A winter stalk should have between five and eight eyes and be approximately three to five millimeters thick. Cut it also necessary from the middle part of the shoot. The lower cut of the cutting should be right under the bud. Nutrients are concentrated there, so the roots will grow faster.

You can plant cuttings directly into the ground, best in September-October. The soil is prepared in the same way as when planting summer cuttings, and also covered.

As the roots begin to form, the greenhouse film begins to be lifted so that the cuttings are ventilated. Again, lower the film is necessary in case of frost. If the frosts are strong, then reed mats should be added to the shelter system.

If you decide to breed such a luxurious flower, do not let it grow to chance. Watch for root germination and the health of the rose cutting. As a reward you will receive the most beautiful of flowers.
