Fluffy flowers, made in the pink-lilac range, covered with tall (up to 1 m) bushes, belong to clarinka and graceful - this is the most famous type of plant in floriculture, from which more than 10 varieties have already been deduced. Most of them have medium-sized flowers with a diameter of up to 3-4 cm, whose petals are painted in white, pink or purple tones. Slightly less common coral and salmon shades, and not so long ago, breeders managed to bring a mixed variety in which it is difficult to guess the dominant color.

He received the name Bouquetmixed and looks like hyacinths in the form of inflorescences: the same fluffy terry hemispheres that sit across the entire height of the stem almost opposite each other. The petals in it are painted in shades of pink and white, which allows you to create an incredibly harmonious flower bed from a single clark variety or shade other flowers with this delicate stretch of shades.

Of the more traditional varieties of clarke, AppleBlossom, which, despite its name, is famous for its peach-pink petals, and Gloriosa, striking bright scarlet flowers sitting on the stalks alone, rather than in inflorescences, as can be seen in most elegant clararkas, deserve attention. . But the most famous variety of this color is Brilliant, which has a cool pink color.

Features of growing from seed

Clarkia graceful: growing from seed

Sowing is the only way to grow clarke in natural conditions, that is, North America, and in the middle lane with its unstable climate. In any region, Clarkia is grown as an annual, and only that in the south it is possible to extend its life to 2 years. However, this is not necessary: first, the plant blooms after 1.5-2 months. after sowing, secondly, it is not difficult to sow it for the next year either - it is not too whimsical and can even be given to a novice gardener. Planting can even be planted in open ground, but given the sharply continental climate, some experts recommend that precautions be observed and sow clarke in a greenhouse or apartment, wait until its seedlings are stronger, and only then transfer them to the site.

If you grow Clarky graceful right in the garden, it is best to wait for relatively stable weather when the frosts are past: in the south it is already the beginning of March, beyond the Urals it is likely that the sowing will be postponed in mid-May. There have been cases of sowing clarke in the late fall, under the snow, but this prerogative is better left to professionals. The place for the plant is chosen well heated, with thawed earth, which is easy to loosen. If necessary, some sand and drainage is added to the excavated wells to make the substrate easier. This is especially true for dense loams. Well, if the earth is not too fertile - then the clarkey will bloom profusely, and not grow in breadth. Additionally, you can acidify it a little.

But not always Clarky is grown in the garden - often it is planted in containers and boxes that adorn the balcony, however, the flowers at the same time are smaller than usual. In this case, the plant is sown in mid-April for seedlings, in the traditional universal earthen mixture, devoid of humus in its composition. The seeds are barely covered with soil, after which the containers are tightened with a film in order to retain heat and moisture in them, and are placed closer to the window. Shoots in containers and in the open area appear for 10-12 days, but under the film they can slip for 7-8 days. Due to the core root system, Clarke's transplantation does not favor, loyal to it only at the seedling stage, therefore it is desirable to dive shoots at 3-4 weeks of age. Moreover, it is better to group them by 2-3 pieces in order to get lush bushes, rather than single stalks.

An important nuance that gardeners advise to pay attention to is the clarinka sowing and graceful scheme. If the bushes will spike from the common tanks, then in the open ground, most often the primary landing becomes final. For this reason, 3-4 seeds are dropped into each well, and the points of future bushes are spread from each other at a distance of 30 cm. For heavily growing varieties, this parameter can be increased to 45 cm, if the goal is not to create a dense partition from the bushes of Clarkia graceful.

Cultivation techniques and rules of care

Clarkia graceful: growing techniques and care

If it is necessary to transfer clarine seedlings to open ground, this is done towards the end of May, just before its flowering. If the plant is grown on a balcony, it can be taken out on the street already in the 3rd week, in order to gradually get used to the natural conditions. Clarkia is elegantly cold-resistant enough, therefore, even in Siberia and the Far Eastern District, April-May will not be destructive for her, will not affect further flowering.

The very period of the growing season of clarke and graceful falls on the end of June and lasts until September inclusive. How much fluffy flowers will cover the bush depends on the conditions in which the clariki is placed. The less light she receives, the smaller her flowers will turn out to be, but greens will be more active. But the plant loves the areas with direct sunlight, and even if the summer turns out to be hot, with almost no rain, the flowering of the clarke will remain abundant. She is experiencing drought well, which is not to say about excessive moisture - for this reason, gardeners do not recommend zealous with irrigation of clarke.

If the intensity of flowering still seems insufficient to you, you can easily cut the bushes, eliminating the threat of their further growth. You should also promptly remove fading flowers, if you do not decide to save them for ripening seed pods. However, it is much more important to prevent stagnation of water in the ground, which can even lead to the fungus of the root system and ruin the bush. Occasionally, the land to be moistened is required to constantly loosen, but it is better to refuse frequent top dressings in order not to overload the substrate with useful substances. The value here is only mineral fertilizer introduced during the flowering period 1-2 times a month, but organic matter must be discarded.

Tall bushes that prevail among the variety of varieties of clarke and graceful require additional support in the form of thin wooden slats. Since the stems of the plants do not have antennae, they often have to be tied up. This is especially important for bushes with abundant flowering, since up to 40-45 heavy flowers can be simultaneously blossomed on the stem, dragging it down. Or you can place Clarky near the wall of a house or a gazebo, but this must necessarily be a sunny, well-warmed side, otherwise the bush may not even bloom.

Growing clarinka graceful at the dacha - the process is quite simple due to the unpretentiousness of the plant. For this reason, it can be found in almost every garden as a resident of rabatok, flower beds and lawns. And if you want to extend the lifespan of the clarke graceful, it is better to immediately sow the flower in the drawers and place it on the open balcony in order to carry it into the room for the winter and allow it to wait out the cold in the heat.
