Rice with sesame

The composition of rice with sesame:

  1. Indian basmati rice (or regular steamed rice) - 400 g
  2. sesame seeds - 3-4 cups
  3. sesame oil -45 ml
  4. salt - 8 g (teaspoon)
  5. dry mustard - 1/2 tsp
  6. Cumin - 1/2 tsp
  7. Curry leaves - 15-18 pieces
  8. lemon juice -30 ml

Method of cooking rice with sesame:

  • Rice must be washed and preferably soaked in water for 1 hour.
  • Pour 700 ml of water into a saucepan, add rice, salt and put on the fire. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat, tightly close the lid and cook until ready.
  • Sesame oil should be heated in another saucepan, add curry leaves, mustard seeds and cumin. The peculiarity of Indian cuisine is roasting spices in oil, due to which they are revealed and give the dish a unique taste and aroma. Fry the spices until the curry leaves change color and the seeds crackle. Then extinguish the fire, add sesame seeds and fry them to a golden hue.
  • Add the mixture of spices and spices to cooked rice. Add lemon juice to the dish. Stir the rice gently with a fork, taking care not to damage the sesame seeds.
