In the cold season, I especially want to please myself with tasty fruits and berries. However, these products do not boast longevity. Nevertheless, the way out is still there: you can buy fruits or berries in the store, and you can preserve them and eat delicacies from your garden, even in winter.
Lingonberry will bring you a lot of pleasure and benefit. This berry contains many vitamins and other useful elements. It can be harvested in various ways. Each of them has its own characteristics and advantages.
In order to prepare a delicious syrup from this berry with a sour-bitter taste, you will need berries, water and lemon juice. Syrup can be an excellent seasoning for meat and poultry dishes.
It is necessary to take ripe berries of cowberry to sort them, rinse thoroughly in cold water. Then, put the clean berries in a glass jar.
Then prepare the syrup itself. To do this, take 400 ml of water and 300 g of sugar (based on kg of berries). Here you need to add a little lemon juice, you can zest. All this is necessary to boil, then strain and leave to cool. After the syrup has cooled, fill them with berries. The bank should be covered with parchment paper. Keep this product in a cool place.
Another type of bilberry billet, which will be an excellent addition to meat and poultry. Wet cranberries can be added to salads and vinaigrettes.
As in the previous recipe, the berries must first be thoroughly rinsed with cold water. Clean the berries fold to the sieve.
Next, you need to cook the syrup. To make a syrup for a kilogram of berries, you need to take 1 liter of water, add 2 tbsp. sugar, half 1 tsp salt and a little cloves and cinnamon. The syrup must be boiled for ten minutes. When boiling will form foam, which must be removed.

Cowberry jam for the winter
Since ancient times cowberry jam has a special honor in Russian families. Pears and apples can also be added to the lingonberry jam.
Berries first need to pour boiling water and hold them in boiling water for two or three minutes. After this procedure, they need to fold on a sieve in order to glass water from the berries.
Cooking syrup. To do this, you need 1.5 kg of sugar and 2 tbsp. water at the rate of 1 kg of berries. It is necessary to prepare the syrup in the same way as in the recipes proposed above. After the berries have swelled, they are placed in a basin. There is poured boiling syrup. Very well before the end of cooking put a little cloves in the jam. It will give spice to taste.
If you decide to use fruits in your jam, then they must be cut, after removing the seeds together with the seed box. Then you need to boil the fruit a little in the syrup, and only then fill up the berries of lingonberries. When this fruit is usually taken 0.5 kg per 1 kg of berries. At the end of cooking such a jam, it would be nice to add some lemon peels there.
Lingonberry jelly is best prepared using honey. This product will be a delicious dessert, but it is also perfect for meat dishes.
Berries must be put in a basin and boiled in their own juice without adding water until they burst. Then the resulting mass, you need to strain through the fabric. In the end, we get the juice.
Honey or sugar should be added to this liquid, but honey is preferable. The amount of sugar or honey should match the amount of juice. Then the jelly must be cooked until tender. After it is ready, it needs to be cooled and distributed to banks.
In the old days for better storage cowberries soared. This is quite a tasty dish. Besides, such lingonberry is stored very well. In order to use it in the winter you just need to add a little sugar.
To steam lingonberries, you need to sort the berries. Pour them in a dish with a lid and place in the oven for a half to two hours. After the berries are ready, they must be placed in jars, which must first be sterilized.
Cowberry compote recipe for winter
You can treat yourself in the winter with lingonberry compote. Collected berries must be sorted. They must be thoroughly washed and placed in jars. Pour berries need hot syrup, the concentration of sugar in which should be approximately 30-40% of the total mass. Next, the banks must be rolled metal lids, then pasteurized for about 20 minutes at a temperature of 90 degrees. After all preparations are completed, the compote must be put in a cool place.
