Kvass based on rye bread is prepared according to the same recipes as from classic bread. Kvass is an original Russian drink, loved by everyone. Previously, it was prepared for several days, but now you can make it faster.
- Water - 3 L
- Rye bread - 500 g
- Yeast - 10 g
- Sugar - 3 tbsp.
- Raisins optional
Black bread cut into cubes and put in the oven for half an hour, they should dry well. "Borodinsky" and "Korenskaya" bread is best suited for kvass. Then crackers should be folded in a jar and pour boiling water. Let them infuse for at least 5 hours. When a rich bread brew appears, strain it and add sugar and yeast. Stir well and ferment overnight.
And when kvass began to foam, it must be filtered through gauze again. Then leave it in a jar or pour it into a bottle. Keep kvass in the refrigerator to slow down the fermentation process. You can throw a handful of raisins into the finished kvass.
