Ezemalina is a new culture that has recently appeared on the dacha plots of amateur farmers. High yield, amazing taste and unpretentiousness of the plant contribute to the expansion of the circle of fans of this berry. Growing and caring for a small field does not require special skills - just following some recommendations.
What is emalin?
This is a hybrid of blackberry and raspberry. The plant took the best qualities from their "parents". Everyday berries are very tasty and healthy. They found a lot of vitamins B, C, carotene, pectin, organic acids. These gifts of nature are useful for many problems in the body:
- kidney and liver diseases;
- infectious diseases and fever;
- immune system disorders;
- as prevention of oncology.
Shrubs can be covered with large spines, but they can be smooth. It all depends on the variety.
Yemalina: varieties description
- Loganberry. Stems creeping, without thorns. The berries have a red color, the taste is sour, darker as they ripen. Early variety, berries weighing 5 g.
- Tyberry The variety gives a high yield, the berries are large, of a dark red color. The stems are covered with spines.
- Darrow The variety is upright, the stems reach a height of up to 3 m. Very productive and frost-resistant shrub, for 5 years gives up to 10 kg of berries. The taste is sweet and sour.
- Texas. The stems are very long, can reach 5 m. The berries are elongated, resemble raspberries in taste. Frost-resistant.
How to multiply?
Reproduction of the trees is carried out using cuttings or offspring. The first method is less time consuming and more efficient. To implement it, in the springtime it is necessary to dig up a root, whose diameter will be 5 mm, and length - 12-15 cm. Then it must be landed horizontally on the intended place immediately.
An easier way to reproduce the bushes is rooting of young shoots in August. To do this, do the following.
- Choose strong young shoots not less than 30 cm long.
- Dig a ditch 25 cm deep.
- Lay escape and cover with earth.
- In the spring one shoot will give 3-4 seedlings that can be transferred to another place when the young seedling reaches 15 cm.
Growth and landing conditions
To plant a spring, you need to dig a hole in 40 cm. As a top dressing for "freshly baked" garden dwellers you can use humus mixed with the soil. Such hybrids are planted in a place with good lighting, at a distance of one meter from each other. The gap between the rows is 2 m. After the landing, abundant watering and mulch is necessary, for which cardboard is suitable. You can use straw or spruce sawdust. Then shoots should be shortened to 30 cm.
It is better to feed each spring after 2 years, and not to plant organic fertilizers at the root. Otherwise, the growth will go to the stems, the berry will abundantly bear fruit, but it is unlikely to survive the winter.
In advance or after disembarkation, it is necessary to prepare a trellis as for grapes, about 2 m high. When the stems reach 2 m, the tops should be pinned so that the plant gives side shoots. Subsequently, they will need to be distributed on the bottom wire.
Pruning of spring trees occurs after the end of fruiting. The stems are cut, and the young shoots are laid along the bottom of the trellis. In regions with little snow cover and harsh winters, they are laid on the ground after frost and dropped in.
Ezemalina does not require special care. In winter, the stems can be removed from the trellis and covered with peat, sawdust, straw or leaves. If there is enough snow in these months, then shelter is not required.
Otherwise, you can follow the basic 4 rules.-
In the middle of spring, the space under the bushes should be lined with sheets of cardboard and top with manure, sawdust with ashes, weeds. Mulching should be carried out with a thickness of 7-10 cm. In a year, the cardboard will rot and will become a good fertilizer, and the mulch will protect against weed growth.
It can be made of nylon wire, tied 5 parallel rows between the supports. Instead of wire it is permissible to use fishing line. Big stalks are tied up at the top, lower shoots at the bottom. You should not fix the plant to the stakes, because of this bush becomes larger, and the berries - smaller. But, if every week is not tied at all, it will quickly grow throughout the garden.
It is best to carry it out when the plant is completely otter-bearing in late autumn. If you do not have time, you can in early spring.
Emealin is in dire need of nitrogen fertilizers, so you can use a carbimide, water the plants with infusion of nettle or diluted manure.
"Topaz" is diluted in a dosage of 1: 1000 (10 ml per 10 l of water) and the plant is treated, but such an event should be arranged no later than a month before harvesting.
You can disinfect the hybrid during the growing season by diluting the components in water in the specified ratio:
- colloidal sulfur (1: 100);
- soda ash (0.5: 100);
- fresh cow dung (1:10);
- wood ash (1:50).
For spraying a good decoction of horsetail. To do this, the grass in a volume of 1 kg is poured with cool water, insisted for 24 hours and then boiled for 25-30 minutes. Before the procedure, it is diluted with water in a ratio of 1: 5. If you can not find a horsetail, you can prepare nettles, but the cooking process will last much longer.
- Take 0.6 kg of fresh grass and 0.2 kg of dry grass.
- Pour 10 liters of cold water and insist 2 weeks.
- Strain, dilute with water 1:10.
- Spray the plants.
Cultivation of every spring and care for it are quite simple. From the first days, as soon as the plant has fallen into your hands, you need to follow the rules for planting, feeding, etc. Already after a short time, each of them will reward you with original tasty berries that your family will surely like. And in winter you can enjoy sweet and healthy jam!
