The most common options for covering modern irons are:

• metal;
• ceramic;
• Teflon.

Before you clean the iron from the burnt tissue at home, it is desirable to assess the degree of its burning. If the deposit is thick, then you can use table salt or soda. If there are small dark spots on the surface, it is better to give preference to liquid products: vinegar, ammonia, hydrogen peroxide. Finally, the universal option is the special purchase means, which can be acquired in the household supermarket, and not so expensive.

Metal sole cleaning

Safe removal of plaque and fabric from the metal sole of the iron is possible with the help of:

• regular soap or shower gel. Apply detergent on a sponge and three surfaces. If the fabric does not move away from the metal sole, try other methods;
• hydrogen peroxide. This tool is in any home first-aid kit, while it definitely will not bring harm to the coating. Apply to cotton pad and three;

Ceramic cleaning

The surface of ceramics is practically not subject to burning, but anything can happen. Therefore, if in the process of ironing the fibers or threads are still stuck, we use home-made recipes that suggest how to clean the ceramic-coated iron from the burnt fabric:

• a special tool - a pencil or eraser for ceramics and teflon (sold in hardware stores). Using a purchased device, you can not be afraid of scratches;
• ordinary candle or paraffin - by slipping, you can remove pieces of fabric and thread;
• The sulfur side of a matchbox does not act as aggressively as soda or toothpaste, cleaning the top layer of the coating from dirt. However, this method should be used carefully, without strong pressure;
• ammonia - apply it on the fabric and three surface;
• salt (preferably fine) is wrapped in gauze and neatly covered in three places where it is most contaminated, then wipe with a tampon dipped in peroxide or vinegar;
• toothpaste without large particles - put on a soft sponge and rub into the surface.

Teflon coating cleaning

How to clean a Teflon iron from a burnt cloth:

• in the store you can buy a special sponge for cleaning surfaces from this material;
• we take cotton fabric, we dip it in vinegar and iron it with a hot iron;
• You can also use a special pencil, liquid ammonia or paraffin wax (not always effective).

We do not use salt, toothpaste and other aggressive methods to clean Teflon: the likelihood of surface damage is high.

In order to minimize the risk of plaque and sticking of the fabric to the sole of the appliance, you should follow the rules of care. Very often, all this is a consequence of the inconsistency of the fabric with a given temperature. As a result, the thing spoils, the surface becomes dirty. Another reason sticking threads - use tap water (it is better to take filtered).

Thus, there are a lot of options than to clean the iron from the burnt fabric. In order to avoid scratches and damage, it is advisable to start using the safest methods (paraffin, peroxide, vinegar) and only if they are ineffective, use others.
