For Konstantin, vegetarianism was not something new or unusual; since childhood, he wanted to give up animal food, but only a year ago he became a real vegetarian. Now Konstantin combines strength training with a healthy lifestyle and plans to move on to a raw foods diet.
How did you find out about the new food?
Konstantin :I do not consider vegetarianism something new. Mother was a vegan for several years. The neighbor family practiced yoga and had about 20 years of vegetarian experience, so nothing unusual. I remember that in childhood I was forcibly pushed into meat, I hated him fiercely. I said that I would be a vegetarian as soon as I found out what it was, I was then 5 years old. But I didn’t cope with this, my father’s belt took it and now, until 20, I ate meat food, without fanaticism, of course (chicken, fish and no more).
What made you decide to move?
Konstantin :At the age of 18 I started training with iron; I increased 16 kilograms of muscle mass (from 66 to 82 kg), and the results were very good. Then I ate 5 boiled eggs every day, chicken soup and fish fillets tried to eat every day, I ate probably not less than half a liter of cereal every day. But after a year and a half, I just broke down, could not get out of my illness, only I recovered and went to the hall and the next day I went back to bed from impotence. These flours lasted about 2 months. I have a friend Dima, he was a vegetarian for about a year by that time and promoted a vegetarian diet. By the way, he also rocked and for half a year he managed to gain 10 kg, his results were amazing. Once I just firmly decided to become a vegetarian. I realized that nothing bothers me anymore, in particular my parents. Training had to be left due to illness. But I certainly hoped to heal and return to the hall with new forces!
How did you make the transition?
Konstantin :The thought came spontaneously, I just remembered how I used to want it and realized that this diet certainly could not harm me, and maybe it would help me to get out of the sores. Just took and stopped eating meat, once and for all.
How long have you been on a new kind of food?-
Konstantin :Almost a year. Very satisfied.
Were there "breakdowns"when you returned to the previous steps or once you allowed yourself to eat something that you refused?
Konstantin :Within three months after I decided to become a vegetarian, I learned how to cook different vegan foods, reread a lot of literature on raw food. Tried and syroed about a month and starve for several days. Still, my illnesses retreated, my body cleared, my eyesight and sense perception improved, I became more attentive to the world. Now I am back to training and I eat mostly rice, buckwheat, various vegetables, I eat a lot of fruits, nuts, honey.
Were there any side effects?
Konstantin :After 2 weeks of raw food sickness and lain with a temperature of 40 degrees, after I forgot even what it is to sneeze. I didn’t train for about 8 months after becoming a vegetarian, so I lost the muscles I gained earlier, although my strength and endurance were not bad. Now I’m shaking the iron again, much more intense than before, and the results are going uphill!
What good things have happened in your life in connection with the transition?
Konstantin :I got rid of all the minor ailments that I have ever had, I got a new opportunity to train, I am glad about it. I also met vegans and raw foodists, they are wonderful, kind and strong people. I'm happy!
How did you fight public opinion?
Konstantin :The first month I tried to prove something to people, but I realized that it only wanted to amuse due to these disputes. For this year I inspired 10 people to become vegetarians with my example, I am glad that these people have found something of their own with my help.
How much more do you plan to eat like this? Konstantin :Until I reach a maximum in trainings with iron, then maybe I will gradually move to raw foods. I want my children to be like a deity.
What advise the most important in your opinion, those who want to bevegetarian? Konstantin :It does not matter how a person eats, I think the main thing is that it is supported by faith and power from the inside, then a person can do everything. Each of us has his own way.
