  • Usually a standard sachet in which 10 g of gelatin is enough for one billet. Gelatin dilute 50 g of boiled cold water. Leave the mixture for 15 minutes, during which time it will swell. Then take about a pound of powdered sugar and slowly add it to the gelatin, stirring continuously.
  • Wait until the mixture is easily moved away from your hands. After that, put a small piece of butter in the mass and again stir the mixture for about 10 minutes. Such mastic should also be stored in the refrigerator, wrapped in cellophane.
  • By the way mastic can do different colors. To achieve this, separate the piece from the finished mass and add a couple of drops of edible liquid dye. If you prefer to use dry dyes, dilute them in water beforehand, but it should be quite a bit. Dye should be added little by little to get the desired color, each time carefully mixing the mastic, after which you can sculpt various shapes from it just like plasticine.
